The Kiwanis Club of Manotick is very fortunate to be one of the partner charities for the Bingoland Gaming Centre. As a Service Club, our members have participated as active volunteers at Bingoland Gaming Centre for more than 25 years, assisting Bingoland staff to holding games on a weekly basis. In return, we receive a portion of the funds raised that is used to support youth groups, students, seniors and community events in Manotick and the surrounding area. Among those in the community benefiting from our Kiwanis club donations are Scouts, Cadets, Kiwanis Key Clubs and Aktion Clubs, Scholarships at local high schools, Manotick & Barrhaven Food Cupboards, Rural Ottawa South Support Services (ROSSS), Kemptville District Hospital Foundation and Kiwanis Music Festival to name a few. We also sponsor major local community events such as Dickinson Days, Santa Claus Parade of Lights, and Shiverfest.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is proud to be a partner with the Bingoland Charitable Gaming Center. We are a national charity, but our local chapter works closely with patient families in our community. Funds raised in 2022 were directed to providing verified low-income kidney patients with financial assistance to cover costs related to their diagnosis – such as transportation to treatment, medications, medical equipment, etc – and to pay for emergency living expenses. These funds are helping medically and financially vulnerable people in Ottawa and we are deeply appreciative of this support.

As an all volunteer youth sports program, we benefit tremendously from our relationship with OCGA. All funds raised go to providing necessary equipment and play field access for both contact and non-contact programming.
We have established a priority in ensuring no child is unable to participate due to financial challenges. Coupled with the club providing all equipment to play lessens the financial burden to parents wanting their children to join.
We could not deliver a programs without the assistance OCGA provides.
The Club is grateful to the OCGA and look forward to its continued success.

President, Nepean Eagles Football Club“Without the support of Bingoland Gaming Centre Bingo, we wouldn’t be able to continue to offer football programs to boys and girls youth in our region of Western Ottawa. It is that simple. The monies raised allow us to ensure we keep our sport affordable and accessible. We supply all of the required equipment to play football for our youth and over 75% of that overhead cost for that equipment is covered by revenues raised through Bingo. We are so appreciative for the partnership.” Paul Stewart, President
“The Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region is able to use the funds donated by BINGO to assist in funding our Volunteer Program. The funds help us recruit and train 100 new volunteers every year to work on our phone, text and chat lines. It also allows us to provide continuing education, support and supervision of our volunteers while also entertaining them through social events. We are beyond grateful for the support from BINGO!” – Leslie Scott

Bell Warriors FootballBel-Air Copeland Lions Sports Club has been providing sports programming for youth in our community for more than 60 years. Our main activity is tackle football for kids with five age groups, ranging from 8 to 18. In 2022. We also offered Flag football for boys and girls with close to 100 players joining in the first year.
As a charity raising funds at Bingoland Gaming Centre, we are able to keep our registration fees low, making it easier for kids to participate.
Our money earned at Bingoland also enables us to purchase and maintain the best of equipment for our players. A new helmet alone now costs approximately $500. Supplying each player with a helmet, shoulder pads, pants, and uniforms would be a huge cost for families.
Bingoland funds allow us to continue to provide all equipment for the players, and to support club operations. Bingo helps us ensure that no child is turned away because of any financial challenge.
We truly appreciate the opportunity to participate at Bingoland Gaming Centre, as we continue to support the youth in our community.

888 Meadowlands Drive Ottawa, Ontario K2C 3R2With the support of OCGA’s bingo funds, ABLE2 channels the power of compassionate people to provide hope and support to the most vulnerable citizens through the Matching Program where volunteers are matched one-on-one with people living with disabilities of all ages, across the disability spectrum. Many people with disabilities do not have the benefit of these relationships. These intentional friendships help reduce their isolation and vulnerability by building community ties, reducing loneliness, and helping to anticipate and prevent numerous crises often experienced by individuals with disabilities. These one-on-one matches enable people with disabilities to have someone to provide them with practical support, access system supports, and help increase social connections thereby improving their mental health and consequently their physical health. OCGA is helping to provide the tools, choices and connections that empower people with disabilities to build lives of meaning and joy.
Story – Anika and Liv
In August 2021, Liv and I were very excited to hear from one of the social workers at ABLE2 who thought they had found a potential match for Liv. Her name was Anika and we quickly set up a time for Anika to come over to our house to meet Liv. They instantly hit it off! They discovered they had many things in common – they both like Starbucks (very important since Liv will seek them out), exploring downtown, music and trying new things (which they have done plenty of on all their outings).
Over the last 11 months, (during a pandemic no less) they have gone to the Museum of Nature, the Ottawa Art Gallery, a Halloween scavenger hunt in Westboro, the National Art Gallery, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, lots of libraries to play games on rainy days, to Anika’s apartment, walks downtown, Anika’s parent’s house and to see Sing2 just to name a few.
Anika and Liv have formed a bond and become true friends. Anika has really made an amazing impact on Liv’s life and social connections outside of her family. We are so happy that this program exists. Anika is such an amazing person and has become like family to us. I am sure they have many adventures to come!
